Class 1 Weddings specialises in offering a contemporary style of wedding photography and videography. Our work captures a range of emotion, expression and style. Some photographers shoot what is known as photo-journalism styles and others shoot purely traditional, we have developed our own style which we call Vogue-Journalism. Vogue-Journalism is photography which looks almost fly on the wall but we have some input into the poses. This combined with some creative lighting and camera angles gives a great looking image. We consider it a great privilege to be able to photograph someones wedding, because it can be one of the most inspiring, motivating and creative assignments that a photographer can have. We use our experience of several years to produce a finished product capturing the natural and unusual, the creative and contemporary. The key to our succesful wedding photography is the ability to capture how the bride feels as well as how she looks. As your wedding photographers our job is to get the best out of you and your guests. We believe in building a friendly professional relationship to enable us to become a seamless part of your wedding. People can relax and be themselves resulting in natural & spontaneous images.

Class 1 Weddings is run by husband & wife team, Carl & Jenny Walters.
Multi-award winning photographer, Carl, has many years experience in both photography and video work, being a member of the Society of Professional Video Producers, the Society of wedding & Portrait Photographers, and was a founder member of the British Amateur Photographers Association. He has several qualifications and diplomas in the photographic field, ranging from studio, glamour, portrait and wedding photography as well as printing techniques. He is a member of The British Professional Photographers Associates, the Wedding And Portrait Photographers International (WPPI). He is also a member of the Master Photographers Association (MPA), awaiting accreditation. Carl's latest membership acceptance is the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). Carl has had his images published in the Times, Guardian, and Sunday newspapers, as well as being the recommended wedding photographer by the Editor of the Financial Times business pages.

Carl continues to drive his photography and videography business with the relentless enthusiasm and passion that you only get from doing something you love, and this has resulted in a prosperous business complete with home based editing studio in Chesterfield and a showroom in the rural outskirts of the town.

Jenny puts her experience from her work within the newspaper industry to great advantage, having a keen eye for pictures many others miss, especially within the reportage and photojournalistic style. Having been a Bride herself – albeit quite a while ago! – understands the effort, passion and creativity that goes into the organisation and coordination of a wedding and reflects this in her approach to covering the day. Recording the details of the wedding for the Bride is particularly important to Jenny: the shoes, flowers, table settings and of course the venue. Clients are delighted with the way her photography captures not just the story but the spirit of the day as well.

Class 1 Weddings also employ a small team of professional photographers and videographers who assist on most weddings, allowing them to capture even more shots and images that may be missed by smaller outfits.

Where do we go?
Anywhere! We're based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. There are no hidden charges, however for longer distances we may charge for an overnight stay, but you would be advised of that prior to booking. Each wedding coverage includes the services of at least 2 photographers, a bespoke pre wedding shoot, full coverage on the wedding day, slideshow of your completed album on either DVD or VCD, online viewing for a minimum of 6 weeks following your return from your honeymoon and a bespoke and custom designed wedding album. We enjoy visiting new wedding venues and new wedding locations and we are happy to travel all over the UK! We also travel worldwide subject to conditions. We have photographed in many countries, including the USA, Greece, Spain, Canary Islands, Mexico, Italy, France, Holland and Cyprus.

Carl & Jenny aim to personally photograph or film four premium weddings each month for select clients. Our team of professional photographers/videographers will cover any others. You can be assured of the same strict high standard of quality and service, and the peace of mind that Carl and Jenny will design your bespoke album or edit your dvd with the same commitment they give to each of their select clients. You are advised to book early as their reputation is spreading fast.

We were again for the third year running the chosen photographers for the PEAK FM calendar. We spent two weeks photographing the volunteer models for the 2006, 2007 and the 2008 calendar. All the proceeds from the calendars were in 2006 and 2007 shared between the Genesis Cancer Appeal & the Ashgate Hospice. The 2008 proceeds went to the Genesis Breast Cancer charity. We had a fantastic time working with other local companies who all gave up their time to help out and make the calendar possible. The calendars have raised in the region of £50,000. Class 1 Weddings would like to thank everyone who was involved in the making of the calendar or who purchased a copy.
